Kelly Day.

For my birthday celebration David planned a day together!  We had an amazing day and enjoyed our time together.  We got up and went out for breakfast at The Egg and I – yummm.  Then we stopped by Hobby Lobby cause I love that store and I picked up some fun yarn to make something with!

We then went home and took Wrigley on a walk.  It was almost 60 degrees out and we just wanted to soak up the great weather!  We watched a little bit of American Idol and then headed out to lunch at a fancy restaurant called The Plate!  We felt rich (but we used a coupon of course)!!

After that we stopped by the Western Warehouse, another place I like because I can dream about how I wish I was a real cowgirl.  David bought me a cowgirl shirt and I love it.  Then we stopped by Pier 1 Imports to check out their sale items and I walked out with a new scarf.

After that we headed to the theater and watched Yes Man!  We both thought it was very funny and laughed out loud.  There are some crude jokes that could have been deleted but otherwise it was good.

David had set up a Raindrop therapy massage for me but we decided to cancel it and just continue our lovely day together!  We headed home so David could work a little and I spent some quite time reading.  After that we had pizza and popcorn and watched a few of our favorite shows!

What a wonderful day together.  Thanks David for all your thoughtfulness, I love you again and again!

Christmas Vacation!

We had so much fun over our Christmas break enjoying each other, enjoying Colorado, and enjoying some wonderful company! We took off on Christmas eve to head to Avon (near Vail) and on the way we stopped to ski a few runs at Keystone! We of course called a few of you to brag that we were almost alone on the hills on Christmas eve enjoying our Colorado life. We spent a few days with some AF friends and then a few alone. After David's parents finally made it to Colorado (their flight got delayed two days!) we enjoyed seeing them too. The Picture above is at the pizza place in Keystone on Christmas eve.
Walking the street of Vail!

Kelly & Chuck (David's dad)... enjoying our lunch break from skiing Beaver Creek.
The view at Beaver Creek... and yes my helmet is huge!
On New Years after skiing we headed to Vail village for the show! They had a lot of the ski instructors ski down this run with torches. It was very pretty and very cold.

It was a blast being in the mountains for a few days and just relaxing! We had so much fun tromping in the 7 foot snow and watching movies :-)

Merry Christmas from the Blomgrens!
... the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

These few verses really touched me differently this season.  I was reminded again that Jesus put himself in the lowest place so that we could be raised up!  He was born in a dirty barn and slept in a trough his first night on earth.  Wow.  God is so creative and so thoughtful.

We hope you all had a very merry Christmas and you were able to enjoy a little time away from everyday life.  We love and miss those of you who are not near.
